A hotel living off the past . Careworn. Ground floor room given. No sun. No balcony. View of fence and wood stack from bedroom window one metre away. No garden view. Bed 30cm off the floor. Worn power sockets. Every time kettle switched on the lights dimmed. Will not go again
We booked with TUI as most appear to do, the trnsfer from the airport was perfect although we did appear to hurtle along at some speed. The hotel is perfect, its set in its own gardens with an indoor and outdoor pool complete with a jacuzzi …
I wondered why there were not many reviews to this hotel. I guessed it's because most guests are not English. Not a problem.|The hotel is spotless and the staff very pleasant. |We were asked if it was our first time in Maderia, and when we …
This is a small hotel in Funchal city which is a green oasis in amongst the buildings!|We had a room in the main building which was clean and comfortable. Beds were comfy and there was a well equipped bathroom. Our room did not have air …
We just loved it and its lovely staff! We had a rather big room in the new building and |it was spotless except for the tv stand which had a horrible looking surface (but we filled it with our own stuff so it didn't really bother us after …
Let’s start by saying… I don’t know how this hotel has that many good reviews. I wonder in what rooms they were staying. Let’s start by naming some positive things before I go further.
The location is nice, lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby. Easy to get around. The garden of the hotel is also gorgeous! Very well kept, beautiful nature. Lovely to see the little lizards
crawling around our balcony. The breakfast was okay, nothing special but enough to fill our stomach.
Now let’s dig deeper. When we arrived, we got room number 1. It was late at night so we were happy to finally check in. But oh, we were disappointed. A room full of dirt, pillows with weird spots everywhere. And a bathroom full of mold. We weren’t pleased obviously, as a young couple, we were a bit afraid to complain. But we gathered our courage and told the reception. The guy told us to just “tell the co worker in the morning, she will fix it”. So we stayed… the next morning we went to the reception and asked the lady. She kindly brought us to a new room. Which was very nice! The room was a bit better but not really. Mold on the chairs, in the bathroom, the closet. Also, the balcony doors just didn’t close! Everyone could just step into our rooms (we were on the main floor) Just overall NOT okay. We still are a bit upset, madeira is a beautiful island and worth every cent. But this hotel is just not it.
Very cosy little old shool hotel with great staff and service. Felt like being guests at someone's house. Bring a branch outlet, very few electrical outlets in my room. Nice pools and nice breakfast.
the hotel is a small Oasis in the middel of the city. The pool area is really good and the rooms are comfortable.
The hotel has a small bar, where you can order drinks for the pool. (I think service is until 23).
We had breakfast included and it was ok. Everything essential was there.
Going to Funchal from the hotel is also no problem. Around 2km, with no significant hills.
